James Seabright (Chair)
James Seabright has produced and/or general managed over 200 shows since 2001, with an emphasis on touring shows around the UK and internationally, as well as productions in various venues both on and off West End in London. He has been profiled by both The Independent on Sunday and The Stage, and has twice been the recipient of the Stage One New Producer Bursary (2002 and 2004). He has been a guest speaker at RADA, City Lit and at the Masterclass series run by Theatre Royal Haymarket. James was commissioned by Nick Hern Books to write So You Want To Be A Theatre Producer, which was published in May 2010 and in an updated edition in 2016. He is a board member of the League of Independent Producers, a member of the Society of London Theatre, and an associate of Wilton’s Music Hall. Between 2003 and 2014, James presented a large number of productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe under the Festival Highlights banner, winning a wide range of awards, including five Scotsman Fringe Firsts for productions directed by Hannah Eidinow.
Aaron Porter leads a national governor and trustee development programme which engages with over 850 trustees and governors across the UK on an annual basis. He has extensive experience leading board effectiveness reviews of over 50 trustee and governing boards. Aaron has served on the governing council of the University of Leicester and has previously been a Non-Executive Director on the Board of a range of agencies and charities including the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) and President and Chair of Trustees for the National Union of Students (NUS). Outside of education, he served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Endsleigh Insurance, on a statutory committee of the General Chiropractic Council and on an advisory panel to the government established pension scheme the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST).
Aaron is currently a school governor, non-executive chair of BPP university, chair of the board of a college in East London and on the Council of Goldsmiths University of London. Outside of work, Aaron is a qualified football referee, goes regularly to the theatre, watches cricket and has a season ticket at Crystal Palace.
Kate Farrell has worked in arts PR and marketing for over 15 years. Currently providing freelance marketing support for Seabright Productions and Wandsworth and Richmond Council, she was head of marketing and communications at the Albany, an arts centre in Deptford, until November 2019.
Mary Lauder studied stage management at RADA & worked in various production roles, before becoming the General Manager at the Tricycle Theatre alongside Nicolas Kent for nearly thirty years. She now works for the charity The Disability Foundation www.tdf.org.uk
Matthew is the Director for Asia and Americas at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy. Prior to this, Matthew was a British diplomat and his most recent posting was as the UK’s Ambassador to Paraguay. He has also worked in Myanmar, India, Japan, Morocco, Iraq, Turks and Caicos Islands, and at the UK Mission to the UN in New York. Matthew is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Leadership Fellow at St George’s House, Windsor. He has a master’s degree in public policy and international relations from Princeton University.
Molly Waiting is part of the Corporate and Commercial team at Bates Wells Braithwaite. Molly advises a wide range of businesses and social enterprises on commercial issues including brand management, data protection, marketing, fundraising and intellectual property rights. Molly also has strong experience advising on consumer protection law in relation to social enterprises, commercial companies and the financial services industry.
Richard trained at LAMDA in Stage Management in Technical Theatre and works both nationally and internationally as a Lighting designer - regularly working at the Kings Head Theatre since 2002. In addition to his Lighting Design work Richard is the Head of Production for C venues at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, was the Technical Manager for the Greenwich & Dockland’s International Festival from 2007 until 2013, works as a freelance Production Manager for the Philharmonia Orchestra’s international digital exhibitions department - Rite Digital - and is currently the Lead Theatre Consultant and Project Manager for a new performance space in London’s West End.
