Time To Train(as a Trainee Resident Director)

I have been on the Trainee Resident Director Scheme for several months now and have already encountered so many great opportunities. Having graduated from Rose Bruford College last year, I wanted to join the King's Head Theatre in order to further my skills as a director.

I have been fortunate enough to assist our Artistic Director, Adam Spreadbury-Maher in a new production of Tosca as part of Opera Undone and I will soon be in rehearsals for Southern Belles by Tennessee Williams, as Assistant Director. As well as assistant directing, I have been working as the Associate Producer on the upcoming Playmill season. This opportunity has allowed me to develop my skills in a variety of roles, such as director and producer, as well as understanding how a theatre building functions.

This scheme has allowed me to meet industry professionals in skills sessions which has enabled me to learn from other artists. It is always great to hear about other artist's journeys into the industry and be able to further develop my own artistic practice through the work I am exposed to.

I am very much looking forward to continuing my work at the Kings Head and to be a part of the future of theatre.
