One match could make history. One secret could destroy it.

Jay is playing the best tennis of his life. History is within reach. One final push and he could become the first openly gay man in the world's top ten.

He's worked for this. Sacrificed for this. Lied for this.

And someone knows.

Kostas was once his best friend. Now he's standing in Jay's way, holding a secret that could end his career overnight… and he wants something in return for his silence.

With a career-defining match approaching, Jay must decide what matters more. The game he's dedicated his life to, or the person he wants the world to believe he is.

Fault is a razor-sharp thriller about ambition, match-fixing and the lies we tell to survive. In a world obsessed with winners, how much can you lose before victory means nothing?

Written and directed by Tom Ratcliffe (Wreckage, Turbine Theatre; Fame Whore and Breeding, King’s Head Theatre), with dramaturgy by Rikki Beadle-Blair MBE.

Fault was first commissioned by Harlow Playhouse. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
