Rockstar

Would you betray your lover? Lie about who you are? What would you do to become a star?

Meet Jack and Billy, two singer-songwriters on the cusp of success.

On the advice of their agent, they conceal their relationship and recruit a female singer, Mara. Her presence helps catapult them into the limelight, but also brings romantic and creative tensions which threaten to tear the band apart... Each of them must decide what they are willing to sacrifice to become a star.

Rockstar is a new musical by Olly Medlicott unpacking the pressures that fame and the pursuit of success can create, exploring how relationships and personal integrity are all too easily sacrificed in pursuing them. Featuring original songs inspired by iconic bands like Queen, Radiohead and The Killers, this is a story for anyone who has ever found themselves hoping their two favourite band members were secretly involved.
