The Last Show Before We Die

Welcome to the messiest break-up you’ve ever been through: live. And this is a WIP, so it really will be messy.

This show is part of Sight Unseen, a season curated by Isabel Adomakoh Young for The Takeover.

Goodbye, we’ve been Ell & Mary.

We’re thinking of ending things but we don’t know how. Endings can look like a curtain call. Or a divorce. Or a double suicide in a Ford Thunderbird driving off a cliff. Endings can look like a 55 minute existential verbatim cabaret made by two coworking cohabiting ex-partners in their mid-late twenties on the brink of breaking up (again).

But how do you know when it’s the end? We’ve watched The Greatest Ever Movie Endings, listened to Spotify’s Ultimate Heartbreak Playlist, & asked a 93 year old, a divorce lawyer, a grief counsellor, a climate activist, & a midwife but we’re still not sure. And one of those people is already dead.

From the creators of smash-hit shows Hotter and Fitter comes the messiest break-up you’ve ever been through: live. And this is a WIP, so it really will be messy.

A co-production by Ellie Keel Productions & Hotter Project.
