How can I contact Box Office?
Our phone lines are open Monday-Saturday from 3pm-5.30pm*. You can call us on 02072268561, and a member of staff will help with your ticketing query.
If you need to contact the Box Office at another time, you can reach us via email at boxoffice@kingsheadtheatre.com and a member of staff will contact you as soon as possible.
Please note, our phone lines may not always be manned, especially during busy periods. To ensure your query is not missed, please email us with a contact number, and we will call you back.
*Building opening hours can vary depending on programming schedule.
How do I book a ticket?
To purchase tickets online you will need to create an account with us via our website. Once this is completed you will need to select the show you want to see by going to the WHAT’S ON page.
Once you select your show, click on the BOOK TICKETS button to the right side of the page. You will move to a new page where a list of upcoming performance dates will be listed. After you select your chosen date you will be able to see the auditorium layout and select your tickets.
At the bottom of this page you will see a PROCEED TO CHECKOUT button where you will be asked for your booking details. Please note if booking online you will receive an email confirmation with your booking confirmation and details but may not receive your E-TICKETS tickets immediately.
Before your show date you will receive a separate email with your E-TICKETS.
Bookings can also be made over the phone from Monday-Saturday between 3PM-5:30PM on 02072268561. A member of staff will walk through the booking process with you. You will be asked if you have purchased with us before and for your booking details. Please note, you will need your card details to purchase tickets over the phone.
How do I receieve my ticket?
All tickets are sent to the email address associated with your booking. You should receive an email confirmation shortly after booking, but your E-TICKETS may arrive at a later date. You can also access your tickets by logging in to your account on our website and downloading them from there.
You will receieve your E-TICKETS via email with a pdf attached. You DO NOT need to print these, but can do so if you wish. The E-TICKET with the QR CODE and performance details is what is needed to enter the auditorium. These can be shown on your phone when you arrive at the venue.
E-TICKETS may fall into your spam/junk folder, so please check these folders if cannot find them.
If you are having issues with your E-TICKETS or have no access to a smartphone, you are able to collect tickets from our Box Office at arrival.
How do I reset my KHT account password?
You can request a password reset link via the website. From here you will be sent an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
Can I receive a refund?
As per our Ticketing and Refunds Policy, we do not offer refunds unless we state otherwise for a specific circumstance in which you will be contacted. Subject to availability, we will offer to EXCHANGE YOUR BOOKING for another date.
THEATRE CREDIT is allocated to your account if a show is cancelled or you are unable to exchange your booking. Theatre credit amounts to the price of your booking. Theatre Credit is valid for ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE.

How do I exchange my booking?
You can do this by emailing boxoffice@kingsheadtheatre.com stating the date and time of the show you’d like to exchange to and we will try to accommodate the booking for you. Where possible, we will try to exchange your tickets to the same seats, or within the same price band. Please note, you may be required to pay a price difference for any exchanges.
How do ticket prices work?
We may have THREE different price bands for our shows. BAND A, BAND B, BAND C and selected show’s will have a limited number of £10 tickets. Ticket prices may vary depending on OFF PEAK Performances, PEAK Performances and PREVIEW Performances.
Many shows will also have a concession ticket price listed. This is at the discresion of the producer. Concessions are available for:
- Under 30s - audience members under the age of 30.
- Students - anyone registered as a student at a higher education institute or in full time education, on the date of the performance.
- Members of our Access Scheme - audience members who are registered disabled / have a registered disability or necessary access requirement.
- Theatre Union Member - members of Equity, BECTU, SDUK, ITC, UKT, League of Independent Producers, MU or equivalent.
Any concessions available for a particular show will appear when you select your tickets.
Can I book ticket for a group?
You can book tickets for your group with the following discounts:
10% off bookings of 10+ Tickets
15% off bookings of 15+ Tickets
20% off 20+ Tickets
Alternatively you can call the Box Office on 02072268561 on Monday-Saturday from 3PM-5:30PM and a member of staff will be there to help assist you in your booking.
Where can I find more information about each show?
Information about each show is listed in the YOUR VISIT section on each show's webpage. You will see information about running times, content warnings, age recommendations and more.
The running times of each show may be approximate and are subject to change.
Each performance is different and contains a variety of content warnings. These will be shown on the YOUR VISIT section of our website and displayed at the Box Office, Bars and Entrance to the theatre. If you require any information about these please speak with a member of staff.
Trigger warnings are a guide, and it is up to the individual to determine if a show is appropriate for viewing.
Memberships & Donations
How can I donate to the theatre?
There are multiple ways you can donate to our theatre and help keep our doors open! You can donate when checking out after making a booking on our website. Alternatively, you can donate via our website by selecting the DONATE button..
If you are visiting our venue you are able to donate by placing money in our bucket at the end of the shows. We also have two Contactless Donation Points in our venue, at the Box Office and The Bar.
How do I become a member?

How do I join the Angels of Angel network?
Angels of Angel is a unique fund and supporter network of King’s Head Theatre specifically focussed on the creation and production of new theatrical productions. Donations will be used specifically to support new shows - donating to the fund will enable you unique access to the shows and put you into a community of like-minded theatre aficionados.

How do I join the mailing list?
At the bottom of our webpages you will find a section sign-up button on the footer of our website, where you will be able to register your first name, surname and email address. Once completed you will be added to our mailing list and kept up to date with any news from us and upcoming opportunities, events and productions!
You can also request to be added to our mailing list via the Box Office! Drop us an email or speak to one of our team.

Bar & Drinks
When does the building open to the public?
Our bars and box office will open 45 minutes before the selected show time.
We have two bars in our new venue: the Above Bar and the 4Below Bar, with the latter being open subject to show times and the nature of the show.
Do you serve food and drink?
We have a range of alcoholic and soft beverages available at our bars. We also currently serve a limited selection of snacks, including popcorn and ice cream.
We do not serve food or hot beverages. However this is something we hope to expand to in the future!
Are you still connected to the King's Head pub?
We are no longer affiliated with the King’s Head Pub. While we treasure the memories and history made in our old venue, we are excited to begin a new era. You may still see old signage displayed in the Pub, but this should be ignored.
Can I bring drinks from the King’s Head Pub into the theatre?
Drinks purchased from other establishments, including the King's Head Pub, are not permitted on our premises. We welcome you to join us for a drink in one of our Theatre Bars which open 45 minutes before the show begins.
Do you do Challenge 25?
Our Theatre Team Members have the right to question age and request ID when serving alcoholic beverages to members of the public if they suspect you are under 25. Our staff provide the right to deny service to anyone who cannot provide proof of ID.
How can I pay?
We are a cashless venue. To book tickets, purchase merchandise or use our bars we only accept card or contactless payment.
Building & Space
How do I find the new venue?
Our new venue is located behind the old King’s Head Theatre Pub, in Islington Square. Our new address is 116P UPPER STREET, N1 1QP. If you are standing on Upper Street facing the King’s Head Pub, Islington Square is directly to the right through the arches and black gates. Walk into the Square and you will find the theatre on your left through the big red gates, opposite Bewliehill Cafe.
The two closest stations to King’s Head Theatre are ANGEL STATION which is a 10 minute walk to our venue and HIGHBURY AND ISLINGTON STATION which is a 15 minute walk to our venue.
The closest bus stops to our venue are ST MARY’S CHURCH which is a 1 minute walk to our venue.

Do you have parking?
We do not have any parking associated with our venue. The closest parking for Blue Badge holders is Almeida Street or Upper Street. Please check Islington Council’s parking notices. The closest car park to the theatre is Angel Upper Street Car Park.
Can I be admitted if I am late?
Due to the unique layout of our auditorium, most seats can only be reached by crossing the stage. As a result, latecomers may not be admitted.
If we have the capacity to admit you, you will be shown to a latecomer seat by a member of staff. If you are late we cannot guarantee that you will be able to sit in the seat you purchased. If a show has an interval you can move to your booked seat.
Latecomer admissions are up to the discretion of the KHT staff and visiting companies. Visiting Companies reserve the right to not admit latecomers once the show has begun.
If we cannot admit you due to lateness we will try to exchange your ticket subject to availability, however you may need to pay a ticket difference depending on ticket availability.
Starting times for each show may differ between performances. Please check your ticket carefully to ensure you are on time.
What accessibility provisions are there?
Our venue spans 4 floors and there is lift access to all areas. Our Accessibility page will tell you everything, from how many steps there are to key locations, to how to book accessible seating.
If you would like to register to our Access Scheme, you will need to complete our Accessibility Form. This will allow you to book suitable accessible seating via the website and won't have to ring the Box Office every time. Please register here:
Do you have a cloakroom?
We do not have a cloakroom at our venue. Coats, jackets and small bags can fit under your seats. We advise you not to bring large bags to our venue. Where we can, we will help store any bags for the duration of the performance, however we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage and cannot guarantee that a member of staff will be with your item for the duration of the show.
Can I retrieve my lost property?
Any property left in our Auditorium, 4Below, or Bars will be kept and logged. If you leave an item at our venue you can call us on 02072268561 or email us at boxoffice@kingsheadtheatre.com to arrange collection.
Any property not claimed after ONE MONTH will be donated to Wandsworth Oasis on Upper Street. Wandsworth Oasis fund support and challenge the stigma towards those living with HIV. If you are aware you have left an item with us and CANNOT retrieve it within the ONE MONTH period please contact us and we will ensure your item is logged and kept until you are able to retrieve your items.
How do I enquire about booking a space?
Our theatre spaces are programmed year-round. Head to the Bring a Show page of our website to find the appropriate application forms and who to contact. There is also detailed information about our spaces on this page that will help you with your application process.

Bar bookings are subject to availability and performance timings, as we have multiple shows a day. For any information regarding booking our bars for a group event, rehearsal or meeting, please contact boxoffice@kingsheadtheatre.com.
Do you record any shows?
We may record a performance for archival purposes and companies may choose to record a show for future use. If a performance will be recorded or have photography we will display necessary signage to confirm this. If you have any questions please speak with a member of the staff who will assist you.
