Northern Spirit proudly presents Women in the Now, a powerful evening of new writing at the King’s Head Theatre, Islington.

Bringing together short plays by women writers and creatives, this dynamic new writing night explores what it means to be a woman in the world today. Through bold, character-led storytelling, the evening moves between the funny, the messy, the intimate and the deeply affecting, shining a light on voices and experiences that are not always centred on our stages.

From identity, family and love to work, ageing, class, expectation and survival, Women in the Now offers an honest and resonant portrait of contemporary womanhood in all its complexity.

Produced by the award-nominated Northern Spirit Theatre Company, this evening is committed to creating space for women’s stories, particularly voices that deserve greater visibility, including working-class women and women over 40. Raw, immediate and deeply human, these are stories of life as it is lived right now.
