The critically acclaimed queer adoption play

"We’re not the new normal. We’re the new f*cking extraordinary."

Zeb and Eoin have met, kissed, fallen in love, moved in, got married - what’s next? Zeb will be Fun Daddy. Eoin will be Serious Daddy. Beth’s job is to decide if they are “appropriate” Daddies at all.

Together they all navigate the precarious road to adoption and queer parenthood, forced to lay bare fears and secrets.

Written by Barry McStay (Vespertilio), and directed by Tom Ratcliffe (Fame Whore), Breeding is a funny, moving drama that premiered in 2023 to critical acclaim and is back at the King's Head by popular demand.

Originally produced in 2023 in the closing season at Kings Head Theatre pub, under our guest artistic director programme. Programmed by Tom Ratcliffe and originally directed by Matthew Illife

Angels of Angel Production Fund

This production has been supported by the King's Head Theatre's Angels of Angel Production Fund. The Fund is a supporter network run by King's Head Theatre which focuses on the creation and production of new theatrical productions. The donations raised from the Fund are invested into productions, with all surplus ticket income going back into the fund so we are able to invest in more shows in our new King's Head Theatre venue.
