Bluebeard III

A queer re-imagining of the classic fable... A female quest for self discovery

This show is part of Platform Festival. Explore the season & find out more here!

An unforgettable journey of self-discovery, Blue Beard III is a fresh & exciting reimagining of the classic folktale, with a female queer protagonist leading the way.

Thought to be dated around the early 1800s, Blue Beard was a story used to caution women about their curiosity. However, in the 1990s, a new version appeared in Women Who Run With Wolves, a female almanac that used fairy tales to help women navigate different stages of life.

Inspired by this tale and living her own version of it, creator Gemskii brings a powerful and relevant third iteration of the story that delves deeper into the narrative and explores details that were unexplored.

Witness Blue Beard III as it unpacks the complexities of the human psyche and the struggles of self-discovery, which will leave you both entertained and inspired by witnessing the magic unfold before your eyes.
