Three foster brothers affected by the cost of living crisis. Led by one, they attempt a ‘quick fix’ solution to their money problems. Set in a living room they share, they wait. As the minutes tick by we see as their relationships and dreams unfold. Challenged by rivalry, temptation and the political state of the times this black comedy looks to shed a light on the state of the world from the perspective of three young adults all trying to make their way in what seems like a bleak future. The clashing of personalities, opinions and opposing plans leads to controversy, betrayal and grim resolution. How does desperation affect us? Does family come before greed? Can you trust the ‘easy’ way out?
Because of the tough times a lot of us face due to the state of the world and the cost-of-living crisis, my main motivation for this play is to allow an audience to escape and laugh at the ridiculous state we find ourselves in. Through three larger than life 'brothers' we look at the harsh reality but also the comical side to all things as life does in fact 'go on'. It is the comedy and hope we find in all things that challenge us day to day that keep us going and hopefully bring us closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.
