Springboard: A Partnership

‘We aren’t normal, Zach. So why are we trying to be?’

Can two men in modern-day London have a long-lasting, monogamous relationship? Paper Mug Theatre presents the five-star (Theatre Weekly, EdFringe Review), award-winning debut play A Partnership by Rory Thomas-Howes, winner of an Off West End Commendation, longlisted for the prestigious Bruntwood Prize and sell-out hit at Edinburgh Fringe 2019.

A Partnership, a relationship comedy-drama featuring two men, has no angels, no AIDS and no other characters – it looks into the changing face of homophobia, as partners Ally and Zach are forced into a devastating conversation five years in the making, to finally make a decision about their future. In real-time, on the eve of Ally’s 30th birthday, he and Zach question whether we can – or should – be ‘normal,’ as internalised homophobia casts a silent shadow over their relationship.

Please note that the performance of A Partnership on the 11th April will be live captioned.
