Venue Accessibility Information

We want all our Kings Head Theatre friends, audience members and artists alike to feel comfortable, safe and welcome in our venue.
Here, you will find information relating to our venue and show accessibility. If you have any questions you cannot find an answer for below, please contact us directly on: 0207 226 8561 or via email on [email protected]

Access Scheme & Ticket Booking

Our Access Scheme makes it easier for you to book accessible seats and facilities. It will also ensure our customer facing-staff teams have the information they need in order to make sure they can support or assist you appropriately.

To sign up to our Access Scheme, please click HERE and fill in this form where we will register your requirements on our system.

If you require a companion, carer or personal assistant ticket, in order to access or attend a performance at the theatre, you are entitled to one complimentary (free of charge) essential companion ticket. Once registered on the scheme, you will be able to log into your account on our website and automatically book these tickets to the performance of your choice. The second ticket will automatically be discounted in your basket.

If booking tickets is more accessible by phone, you can call the Box Office from 3pm Monday - Saturday.

Mobility Access / Getting Around The Venue

Entrance into the building is level access and step free.

Both of our bar & theatre spaces are located below ground level and are serviced by wheelchair accessible lifts.

The top floor where our offices and audition space are located are not currently serviced by the lift and so are not wheelchair accessible.

There are a total of 19 steps to reach the Above Bar, Courtyard and Toilets.
A total of 51 steps to reach our Mezzanine Main House Entrance, Tech Box & Dressing Rooms

A total of 66 steps to reach our Below bar/Cabaret House and additional Main House Step-Free access and Toilet(s).

Step free entry and exit into the auditorium is located on level -4 which can be accessed by the lifts.

Entrance and Exit to our Courtyard is step-free and wheelchair accessible.

There is signage throughout the venue.

At busy times, including just before show times, there will likely be lots of people in the building. We suggest arriving with plenty of time so you can find your way around and get comfortable if you are someone who might find smaller, busier spaces difficult to access.

Disabled/Access Toilets

We have two disabled/access toilets in the building which can be found on:

Level -1 in the toilets through the Couryard in the ‘Above Bar’

Level -4 beside the ‘Below Bar/Cabaret House’

We understand and acknowledge that not all disabilities are visible and our disabled toilets are for anyone who needs them.

Baby Change and Changing Places facilities

Baby Changing Facilities are available in our Toilets on floor -1 by the 'Above Bar'.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have changing place facilities at our venue.

Gender Neutral Toilets

As an LGBTQIA+ championing venue, we want our patrons to know that they are welcome to use whichever facilities they are most comfortable using, and we will support them to do so. If you encounter any issue or are unclear on which facilities to access, a member of staff will be happy to help.

Finding Us and Who You’ll Meet

Our theatre is located in Islington Square opposite a Cafe called Bewlie Hill - you will enter via a big red iron door and walk down a short way and enter the theatre on the right hand side.

As you enter, the box office is directly on your right hand side in the building.

Members of the Theatre Team will be happy to answer any of your queries or assist you as best as they can.

Adapted and ‘Accessible’ Performances

Details of any captioned, audio-described, relaxed and other 'accessible' performances will be listed on the individual show pages on this website. They will also appear on the performance date pages when booking tickets.

We do not currently have a hearing induction loop in the theatre.

If you require further information regarding specific performances, please contact [email protected]

Show Content Warnings / Guidance

If you require show content warnings or guidance, please check the individual show pages. Where possible, any important or relevant information will be provided there.

If you cannot find the information you need or have any further questions about a specific show, please call or email our Box Office team on [email protected].

We are continually working to improve our venue and show accessibility and welcome any feedback and suggestions you may have.
