The King’s Head Theatre has always been a home for emerging producers - from our Sunday/Monday late nights to full length seasons we have been a place to take that next step forward.
New joint Artistic Directors Hannah Price and Mark Ravenhill will focus the Kings Head Theatre’s future programme on LGBTQ+ work. As part of this mission, the Kings Head Theatre is looking to engage with emerging theatre producers who want to bring shows to us in the future and who feel they, or their work, fits into our renewed Queer focus. We are particularly keen to work with producers who identify as female, trans or non-binary as well as Black or Global Majority teams.
We’re holding an open day to give emerging producers a chance to find out about our future plans, learn more about bringing a show to the Kings Head and to network with other producers in a friendly and supportive environment.
The shows might be new writing, new musical theatre, re-inventions of classic stories, cabaret or comedy, devised or improvised. We’re open to anything that’s formally playful and inventive with a queer vibe. Strong digital content and digitally driven work is of particular interest.
Shows should have at least 50% female identifying or non binary casts, with producing and creative teams that are also at least 50% female identifying or non binary. Casts of four or less with lo-fi production demands.
Come and join us!
