KHT50: Good Fun by Victoria Wood

Set in an arts community centre, a ragtag group of friends plan a last minute party for a group of cystitis sufferers. They say no idea is a bad idea but will their Bran food stall pay off? Can anyone erect a Punch and Judy stage?  And can they find an Eastender celebrity in enough time to throw a pie at them?

This musical comedy was first performed by Victoria Wood alongside her long standing partner in crime, Julie Walters at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in 1980, and it transferred to the King’s Head Theatre in October that same year.

Join us for a post show discussion with Victoria Wood's biographer, Jasper Rees, as well as original Good Fun cast member (and director of the reading) Annabel Leventon. Hear about the show as well as what it was like working with Victoria and much more.

This play was written in 1980, and as such some of the language present is a reflection of that time and may cause offense.

This is a professional reading of the production followed by a special post-show event. The 'KHT50 Barstools to Broadway' Festival is a week-long celebration marking the successes of the King's Head Theatre. We are looking back at the last 50 years and highlighting successful writers and creators who came through our doors, many of whom started their careers at the King's Head Theatre. Any profits will be going towards the move to the new building in 2022.
